Who is Ashley?
Ashley Hartmeier-Prigg, JD
Ashley Hartmeier-Prigg was born and raised in Washington County. She and her siblings grew up taking classes at the Cedar Hills and Garden Home Recreation Centers, experiencing and learning dance, taekwondo, art and cooking. Now, she spends nearly every Saturday morning walking the trails at the Howard M. Terpenning Recreation Complex with her fellow race walkers and hiking trails with her husband, Brady, and their dogs.
The safe, fun activities offered to Ashley and her family are why she is running for the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District. Her experiences as a child, as an adult and dog-owner provide her a lifelong perspective on where THPRD has been and needs to grow.
Ashley believes in the importance of recreation as an integral part of a thriving community and values the role of THPRD to help community members live active, healthy lifestyles. She is committed to seeing that the investments of taxpayer dollars are done responsibly and equitably - and to look closely at the opportunities that serve families with dogs. Dog owners want safe, adequate recreation areas to get them the exercise pets need.
When not outdoors, Ashley works as a Business Operations Manager at Nike, and prior to her Nike career, she practiced law. Ashley has volunteered with local nonprofits to help improve conditions for dogs living on chains and helping others find their forever homes.
